Meet Mr. Dorian
The storm passed inland central Florida with minimal impact. At our house we had 3 1/2 inches of rain and wind similar to a strong thunder storm. The coastal areas took more of a beating. Yesterday, we spent time putting things back where they were before the storm approached. I have a large Buddha Belly plant that was moved to the garage. When we brought it back out, I decided to water it. As I parted the leaves to pour water, I spotted a newly eclosed Monarch drying his wings on the under side of a leaf.
This shot is not sharp. The light was poor and it was still windy. I just wanted to document this little miracle. Today it is hot and clear and there are lots of butterflies out and about. I am so thankful that they were spared and that we were too. I hope that the states North of Florida will be spared as well. The devastation from Dorian will not soon be forgotten!

Glad the plant with butterfly was protected.
I'm glad you had minimal impact fromDorian and I like the pic.
Thanks heaven it was not as expected, maybe not as lucky you are the other region up north.
I’m glad you and yours came through it all safely!

Me too, Karin. Fortunately it wasn’t bad enough to harm them. I had another one eclose the day before while were getting ready for the storm.

Thank you, Bob. The long wait was stressful but we are very thankful to have been spared.

Thank you, Mike. Yes, the Bahamas and possibly the Carolinas have not been so fortunate.
Yeah, we dodged another bullet here too!

Thank you, Bruce. We are 30 miles inland so we were not in danger from storm surge which helps.

Maybe Dorian took pity on us! After all, Florida gets a bad rap most of the time.
Glad you're ok. So very happy Alabama was spared!! Myrtle Beach...not so lucky.
Glad Dorian didn't cause more misery for you than it did, Carol. Some aren't quite so lucky.
So glad you fared well in the storm Carol. Yes, nature is a wondrous thing.
