Is this a problem that has been corrected? Has this topic been discussed in this forum already? I'm thinking about purchasing this model but am now having second thoughts.
Thanks for your input.
Are you thinking instead of the oil problem of the Nikon D600?
Thanks for the link.
After reading many blogs from 2017 it seems to be an issue that hasn't been resolved.
Nope, definitely the 1DX Mark11.

Is a Canon EOS-1DX Mk II the same as a EOS-1D Mark III/EOS-1Ds Mark III? Does the "X" mean anything or not?
I remember their being an oil spot problem with the Nikon D600.
I think it has to do with the line of products they sell and the revisions they've made to the camera.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have never heard of that camera having that issue, the only one I can think of was the Nikon D 600 (which has been corrected a long time ago)!

It is one of my best purchases I have ever made personally. The color, image quality, speed, low light performance and versatility are second to none. Dual possessor is a big deal when it comes to moving objects.
Oil? Just clean the sensor if that becomes a problem, but I see no issues.
I do shoot with the 5D MK4 also, but the the 1DX MkII is so much more... I see a huge advantage for the 1DX MKii in shadow detail, color cleanliness, especially in low light, plus the lack of a buffer at 16fps is amazing.
Do not hesitate, it has a rating of 500K on the shutter for a reason...
The benefit of a C fast card slot adds to the quickness, video and downloading.
It is a known problem with the 1DX Mark II. Really only an issue if shooting at small apertures. Long thread on the Fred Miranda Cañon Forum.
I have owned mine since October ‘16 and never heard of or experienced this issue. I find it to be an excellent camera body.
The Digital Picture website has nice reviews of most Canon bodies and lenses, as well as other accessories.
