I agree with Steve Perry. The D7500 is often called a mini D500, Nikon's best crop sensor DSLR. I love my D7500 Nikon refurb, bought for an upcoming Antarctica expedition, keeping my D5300 as backup. Best of luck with your new D7500!

Don't just use it as a backup, use it as a second camera. Keep your primary lens on your D7500 and your secondary lens on the D5300. It beats the heck out of changing lenses. I keep my Tamron 10-24mm on my D7000, for instance, and my 24-70 on my D800 unless I need longer zoom.

OH, I love you guys and your BAD COPIES. Today camera's are tested during assembly to make sure they all operate the SAME.
IE, their are no bad copies, only bad photographers.
I have worked in and out of the photo industry for over 35 years. And, when the GUYS get together one of the funny topics of conversation is BAD COPIES. I have made many many friends in the photo industry over the years and I am happy to report that, their are not bad copies, only bad photographers.
As I said to the OP, unless he increases his SKILL LEVEL, he will continue to get, in his opinion, BAD COPIES.
I know you will not like this post and will probably respond negatively to it. But, the truth is the truth, bad photographers are bad, regardless of their equipment.

I believe you are the only one who responded to the OP in a negative manner. If you will read the second post from tmicro, you will see that he sent the camera back to Nikon, and it worked well, then had the same problem once again. That would lead me to believe there was some sort of problem with the equipment, and NOT the skills of the photographer. You(or anyone else, for that matter) cannot judge a persons skill level, unless you have ALL the facts, and you surely do not.

Really? I do photo shows and I used to shoot with the D7000 and got really good prints for my shows.
I strongly suggest you up your shooting SKILLS or you will continue to be disappointed in your D7500 also.

Do you actually Know the Skills of the Photographer you are critizing here on UHH?

I will answer that you DO NOT know the Skill level of the Photographer you are Critizing.

I personally am a 2.5 year Beginner in DSLR Photography, my Skill level is a "Beginner", maybe I would say an "Advanced Beginner", I am still learning many things, and striving to apply what I am leaning.

My suggestion to you, a skill you might need to improve, is "Humility", you seem to process an air of " Know it All", or "Haughtiness".

Most all of us here enjoy learning from each other, Positive suggestions how to improve, I hope you will do better next time.

Thanks for your advice. In the reply above, i left out that my son will be using the D5300, so it really will be a second camera...and photographer!
I also hate carrying heavy loads (age 75) and changing lenses, especially outside in rugged conditions, and would rather lose a little IQ with superzoom. The story of what lenses are going to Antarctica is at:
