I think that I have been shooting too dark, so next time I will shoot with a wider aperture, and maybe less light.
Excellent shots - superb detail.
Very nice set. I guess I am going the take the money I was saving for a new lens and by a tube.
I have done a few similar stacks outdoors, relying on natural light for illumination. I shoot pretty wide (f/5.6. f/6.3). Though for larger subjects that means more 'steps' and so more likelihood that the subject will move meanwhile. But I think its worth it.
A very nice set. Practice is fun.
By "less light", do you mean cutting back on speedlight (flash) output?

Yes. In direct sunlight, I have to turn off speedlight. In open shade, 1/64-sec; in deep shade, 1/32-sec.
Excellent..very excellent. You do know that there is no cure for the focus stacking addiction, don't you?
