Esactly. Thank you.

The poster was just trying to pit a finer point on the many pointless points.

Although Nat Geo's printing process has never favored critical sharpness, they always placed content at the forefront. The big failure of digital is that it has placed technology at the forefront. I"m ready to see content there.

Remember, nothing will ever be the sharpest, there will always be something newer and better. This is not the time to obsess, it's time to be happy with what you have and work on your skills.

No lens with that long a zoom scale is tops in IQ, and what about night or low light situations? It isn't a speed demon either.
I would say take a camera bag and at least a fast lens for night etc. and a flash in addition to the 18-300.
