Even though I tend to agree with Barry, the image keeps tugging at me. It brings back that feeling I get walking Daytona Beach at night. Even though my brain says to fear the water at night, some strange force is drawing me to the water. So I think:

Thank you, for sharing how you think of it. This surfer was not just seeing the sunset, but there were a few others still in the water, although the best waves were long past as winds had quieted some. Maybe he was thinking, "is it still worthwhile?"
