I think most of us! If you don't then you can't be serious about your photography IMHO.

I use SyncBack SE to backup seven folders of data. I use two external drives and a NAS.

Backup is not just for photos
Backup is for ALL your important stuff. Your word processor files. Your email. Your programs and configuration files. Your list of passwords. Anything that would cause you grief if it disappeared.

I was in data processing 46 yrs and have seen a few disasters of NO backups. I have 3 backups of 12 generations. Two of those backups are external drives and one drive is stored in a Morgan building in my backyard.

I use one external HD for photographic data another for non-photographic data. Each is backed up every 2 hours to is own external HD; these are swapped out on a "my gut says its time" basis. I use GoodSync to do the backup.

All my data is backed up onto 4 4tb drives and 2 2tb drives.
Except my music and music video files.
Their on 6 seperate usb drives.

3 of those 4tb drives and two music drives are kept in a fire resistant safe.

There are more things on my laptop more precious than my pictures so I back up twice a month.

Two external drives for just photos. Two external drives for complete system and photos image backup. And, complete data and photos twice a day to iDrive cloud account.

Full Windows backup regularly once a week. Lightroom backup after major work sessions. Photos onto same external drive as backup files. If I were a pro I'd backup my work daily. I've never had a drive fail but there's always a first time.

I see two schedules that involve a backup interval of once or twice a month. I suppose it comes down to how much “work” one is willing to lose. I would hate to lose the Raw files I take between backups; but even worse the post processing applied on a daily basis. I have suffered a hard drive failure and have trained myself to backup before I put the computer to sleep for the day. It takes little effort and I do not have to be present.

You could lose 30 days of work... In addition to a regular weekly backup, I store all daily work, as it's done, on a 128GB USB drive almost permanently attached to my desktop. The power for my desktop is on an UPS and is surge protected.
