Birds in flight are very difficult for me. Today they were pretty close. So I gave it a try. Nikon D810 with 200-500mm, f5.6 lens.

Actually not very long. This is a migration refuse area inhabited by geese, cranes, ducks, etc. They are here early spring and fall.
It is located within city limits so no hunting is permitted. Thank you for viewing my photos.

We came across Creamerโ€™s last month on our first evening in Alaska. I was thrilled to see the sandhill cranes as we had also viewed them in Monte Vista, Colorado. I got a few shots with my newly-rented Sigma 100-400 lens, so it was a great practice opportunity. The adjacent woods were enchanting, full of graceful arching aspens. You got some good in-flight shots.
