EXIF Data says "White Balance Fine Tune" set to "+180 Red"

Someone in an early post said it was on Auto WB, but must have neglected to check WB Fine Tune. That pretty well explains it.

I have an X-T2 and had a similar occurrence. I discovered it was caused by several inadvertent bumps: on the back of the camera If you click the right button selector button (the right one of the four buttons surrounding the menu/ok button, it calls up the white balance screen in the LCD... and one more press If the menu/ ok button calls up the fine tune white balance screen.... and then of any of the four selector buttons get pushed, you just accidentally adjusted the fine tune white balance!!! All you need to do is recenter the cursor on the fine tune white balance graph and then push OK. Easy fix for the confusion caused by some inadvertent bumps!

Yes, but it was stuck on "fooled"? I turned the camera on & off several times. I pointed it at different objects. Nothing worked except doing a reset to default. Then it returned to normal. Have you experienced prolonged WB anomalies like this? I took at least 5 pictures over a short period of time and all were pink.

Somehow, perhaps by way of the touch screen, you inadvertently sent the color correction to magenta. You did the right thing and returned all settings to factory zero. That's why I hate touch screens.

It has now been established that it was an inadvertent setting of White Balance Fine Tune that was the problem.

but if the past is a guide, some people will jump in with “solutions” without reading the entire thread.

That was my point.

I was taking pictures of ships today & had taken quite a few when inexplicably everything got a strong pink tinge. This showed up in the LCD as well as the pictures. It was like a pink filter had been activated. I went through the menus 3 times without seeing anything that looked awry to me. I turned the camera on and off 3 times. I even took the battery out to no avail. Finally, I did a default shooting reset from the menu and it went back to normal. I suspect it was either an accidental filter activation or I somehow altered the temperature setting?

Two questions. What did I probably inadvertently activate and how? Second, if it happens again is simply restoring default shooting the easiest way to correct it or there a better solution?

As an old curmudgeon from the film era, I much prefer using the viewfinder when shooting. I only use the LCD screen to adjust menu items or shoot video. I have my LCD screens turned off except to set a menu item or review images, it keeps my nose from resetting things and saves battery life.

OK, it sounds like I somehow got off auto WB. Anyone know how I might have done that in normal handling of the camera and with no custom buttons setup? I thought it said auto WB on when I was going through the menus.

I was wondering if someone would look at EXIF - look at actual facts instead of the usual guessing we get here - before I downloaded it to my computer.

But guessing is how we get the page count up. That and telling the OP to read the manual.

I'm glad someone with experience spoke up. Your answer seems to match what the EXIF says, but if I had looked at the EXIF, I doubt if I would have understood what I was looking at.

Had the same thing happen to me. Only affected jpeg images. If you were shooting jpeg and raw only jpeg is affected.

Thank you! So, even with auto WB set one can fine tune things? By fine tuning - in my specific case - it means screwing things up. I did not know that (one of a vast number of things I don't know about the Fuji undoubtedly).

This happened to my X-T3 recently. I guarantee JayRay's reply is the full explanation of what happened and how to fix it.
