FWIW, I had a local pro lab do my prints. Their guru left without my knowledge and my next print were all messed up. I needed them for a show two days later. Too late to have them redone.
Long story short. Establish a good working relationship with a local PRO LAB that you can trust, or do like I did and purchase a good quality printer, calibrate and do your printing in house where you have total control.
I have learned a lot in addition to creating a good list of labs. I sincerely appreciate all of the great help. Thank you! Doug
Costco is a great service provided you don't need anything other than Premium Luster paper. They have the Epson 44 inch for anything larger than an 17 inches and the Fuji for smaller
prints. Not much paper choice, hence the lower prices. Just make sure to use the right color profiles that you can down load from their site. Fast and inexpensive. Don't count on any advice either. They are for the most part minimally trained techs. I asked the Twin Falls, Idaho manager a question about color profiles. He looked at me blankly and said he didn't know any about it. There you have it.
Thank you, answers a number of questions. Doug
White house custom color.
NOTE: One thing, At the end of your filling out the data on your size, type of paper (Gloss etc) and color or b&W--- they have a option to fix or not fix your picture DO NOT HAVE THEM AUTO FIX YOYR PICTURE!!!
Avoid Snapfish like the plague. They send the photos to local Walgreens and quality is terrible.

I just used American Frame (americanframe.com) for the first time and got excellent results. They offer a choice of papers (and will send you free paper samples, so you can evaluate the surfaces). They accept files up to 500 MB (mine was 250+). They use Epson printers, so you should resize your pictures to 360 ppi prior to any sharpening. Color matching was superb, and the cost was reasonable. They will just print, or you can have them mount, mat, glaze, frame, etc. You choose what you want them to do. I was impressed with my 20" x 30" print.
