Welcome everyone to the twelfth "No Host, Just Post, No Obligation Weekend". This should be the last weekend for “No Host, Just Post, No Obligation” Weekend challenges.
Thank you Roadrunner for hosting the Challenge: "Shooting in solitude" Aug. 19th – 23rd. Again sorry, I just didn't get the time to participate this week.
This week has been one thing after another. Honey I need you do this, Mom can you babysit, school started on Wednesday, and the weather absolutely did not cooperate, with storms and flooding most all week. Elderly neighbors needed help with trees that were damaged in last week’s Microburst cleanup. So my camera time didn’t commence until around 5 o’clock this evening. I always shoot in solitude, not necessarily because I want to, but more because, out here in the country, there aren’t any other photographers that share my interests in shots. But then again, maybe that’s a good thing. Here lately I haven’t been able to get into the woods anyway.
So, I will share what I managed to come up with from around my place this evening. Even with all the fury that mother nature presented us with last week, there is still beauty abounding around us. You just have to look for it.
With this being the last weekend of “No Host, Just Post with No Obligation Challenges, post whatever you like, but do keep in mind that this is a family friendly section.
Comments on submissions are welcomed but don't feel obligated to comment. Please don't be offended if your image doesn't receive any comments. Summer is a short and busy time of year for everyone, and not all have that much spare time.
Have a great weekend,

One of the pests I've had to contend with this week.

Another Pest

The weather didn't stop the Monkey grass from blooming.

Or the Mums from blooming.

Or the Trumpet Vine from going to next years seeds.

Or Polk seeding out.

Or Oscar patiently waiting for dinner.

And I'll end this as tonight's storms approach.

Thanks Johanna for starting another No Host weekend. Hopefully things will calm down soon for you. Same here for us, this summer has just been one thing after another, and the weather don't cooperate at all either or wrong timing for the most part.

Oh I forgot nice captures and like that one of Oscar!!
It's been too hot in Idaho to go out on the streets and take pix, so I've been having some fun playing in the studio.
Nice series Johnna. I like the nice soft bokeh. It can be tough shooting wide open in bright light. What lens were you using?

Thank you Johnna for the start up of this final "No Host, Just Post..." can sympathize with the time element especially as we approach the end of the summer season...
This morning I applied an assignment I been trying to find time to work this entire week...Photograph within 100 meters of your front door...now for a cup of coffee to get the fog out of my head and clear up my eyes (it appears from these shots I need to...) and off to shoot some street shots at an arts festival and a new farmers market in a nearby small town....

Beautiful!
Thank you HardworkingGal.
I thought when I retired I would have lots of time to go out and do the things I love. Unfortunately, like most people, time is still my enemy. Getting out to shoot somehow always seems to get pushed down on the priority list.
As a street photographer myself, I can't wait to see your art festival/farmers market pix.

I bought Merry a Nikon 8-15mm lens for her Birthday. I wanted to try it, so yesterday we dived on a local shipwreck. We had a ripping current and less than five feet of visibility, so I was not happy with the results. Hopefully, she'll let me use the lens again when conditions improve.
