Hello all, first post for me. I have a vintage (obviously) Vario-Dupliscope my dad and I used to hook onto the workhorse Minolta SRT-102, so we have that T adapter for it. Any ideas on how I can get a mount to allow use with the new and improved Canon EOS 50D? I would dearly love to be able to digitize the slides!
Just buy a t mount for your Canon and see how it works. - Dave
T-mounts are available for EOS. I bought one for a 20D and Meade telescope. I think I found mine from some Chinese dealer on Ebay.

It is as simple as buying a little adapter and you're good to go! 15 bucks and you're off and running!
Henry, just what the doctor ordered; actually, I'm not a doctor, but I ordered it. Happy trails to all!+

My opinion is you retire your Spiratone to a paper weight. This lens is notorious for it's poor image production, however, with extensive post processing you COULD try to bring it's sharpness up a notch.
(henryp) Thanks for the info glad your keeping anele on us and can help.)
Spiratone, brings back memories. I lived in Whitestone Queens and on Sat. mornings I used to drive to Flushing with my daughter and hang out there. There was always coffee and doughnuts.
The little Celestron is on the FedEx truck today, so I'll get back to yins once I get shooting. Thank you one and all!

in that case, you should probably recommend another way of "duplicating" slides.
There is also a manual adapter for older minolta lenses to use on the Canon EF. If it worked with your SRT and you were happy with the results, you should be satisfied with the adapted EF.

One factor I noticed on my camera (Canon T6i) is the crop factor. You can duplicate a slide, but you only get a small portion of it. I went ahead and built myself an external box for duplicating slides and negatives.
A sturdy cardboard box, lined the interior with Red River metallic paper (shiny, but with a texture so it's not like a mirror), two 5000 K LED 60 watt equivalent bulbs. Then I cut an opening in the top and fitted a slide & negative holder. Mounted the camera on a tripod and shot away. Got nice 20MPX copies, only took a few seconds for each shot, most of the time involved was placing new slides on the box.

Yes, I hadn’t thought about cropping issues.
