I received three phone calls in five days that claimed form SS Administration that mentioned I have criminal problem on my social security number, and I need to respond immediately by calling them back, or I will be arrested. Of course, it was a scam. No name mention, just a robot recording call, besides, they all came from different area code of VA and MI. with two different woman voice (Two calls with the same voice and the third one was different voice). All of the statement is the same word by word.
I know this will continue to come, I have already record it and will report to the police department and get some advice! This is really annoying!
Any thoughts?

Yeah, I had a call last week stating that my social security number was suspended due to suspicious activity. I was so shaken by this message that I walked to my pub and had a few pints.

Get call screening, don't answer callers you don't recognize. Legit callers can leave a message. Sadly, a fact of life nowadays.

This is a well known scam. The SS administration even has a notice on their web site about it.

I have an iPhone and it has a feature “do not disturb” I have that turned and only calls coming from my contacts will make the phone ring. If I have to turn that feature off and an unknown call comes in I simply don’t answer it. If it is important the caller can leave a voice message.

I have had those calls for a long time. The first was a problem "on your IRS... we will call the local cops..." The local "cops" and not federal marshals or Secret Service agents? Recently it has been SSA and I am to call a number back which I have tried but the number just rings and rings and finally disconnects. I have gotten these on both my land line and cell phone. I have wanted to talk to them and hassle them. Our local police cannot do much about it because they often "spoof" a phone number; usually a local number which is no longer in service or has been disconnected.

I desperately hope that there is a special place in hell for these people, and for the unspeakable low-lifes who attack computers with spyware, ransomware, and all the other wares. The WWW has brought out the worst of humankind and created apparently unlimited numbers of new versions.

We get calls like those several times a day. However, AT&T screens those calls with information like "Unknown Caller", or "Unavailable". AT&T issues phone numbers, so the scammers can't scam them. They know which numbers have been issued.

We also ignore any number that doesn't have a legitimate caller ID.

I'm with you on that one. There are also some, believe it or not, who still go door to door.

The SSA and the IRS will never call. They send letters to the interested party.

Well you could call or visit your local Social Security Administration office. I doubt that will resolve anything. They aren't big on enforcement.

Since it is a robot call just ignore it. Especially hard to do since the phone number is spoofed.

The only thing you can do is be a good citizen and inform as many people as you can. You can use all social media because you are not slandering anyone or committing libel.

You can mention this scam to your congressman, assemblyman, etc. and let as many people in your community know about these thieves.

I block phone numbers from my iPhone that do not leave voice message. It has reduced such calls over time.
