Hello,

I did a searched on this topic and most of the posts were several years old.
We will be going to Las Vegas in late Oct and I am looking for, mostly, unique photography opportunities. Any and all thoughts of what to photograph will be appreciated.
Thanks to all.
Hope everyone has a great day!

I don't know if you're referring to in Las Vegas, or in the area. Valley of Fire State Park is an hour away and has incredible rock formations. Very hot in the summer but may be ideal when you're there.

For my money, night shots are really the only things that work for me in Las Vegas itself. But if you get outside of the City, there are a number of desert areas that offered tremendous opportunity for landscape photography. Hoover dam is relatively close by, as well. These are a couple of photos that I had posted here after my last trip. Obviously, not on the Las Vegas strip

Wow, awesome.
Thank you for the tips. We will be renting a car so we will be able to go outside of Vegas.

There's a lot of buildings with "street art" located in the north area of vegas. Las Vegas Blvd and Carson.

Bellagio has an incredible water show that runs every half hour. Be there at 8:00 or 9:00 (pm) and watch the volcano blow. Your opportunities are unlimited, water falls, colored lighting, daylight or nightlight, video or stills. Tripod will make the op better. Plan on using multiple lenses. and CPLs, ND filters will allow more creativity. Serious fountain watchers tell photographers to watch an entire show without your camera to get an idea of just what they producers offer. The experience is very similar to watching fireworks, only wet! Have fun.

Jessie - You might want to avoid trying to take photos inside any casino. Casinos (I worked at one for several years) are understandably concerned about issues like potential robbery and the privacy of their customers. Taking it very seriously, some may confiscate your camera and remove the memory card. Shots taken outside the building or in the surrounding area are no problem. Good luck, Ralph

Hi. There is a "ghost town" outside but I can't recall where or the name, check a map. There is also a wildlife sanctuary nearby, again check the map; I think it's on government property, a treatment facility type of thing. City lights, traffic buzzing by, casino street signs, show girls walking on the sidewalk, that's what I found. As someone said, DO NOT take photos in the casino or you will suddenly be surrounded (as I have been in the past) by security guards, it's a bit disconcerting.
