Friend of mine couldn't figure out why his hanging bird feeder was empty every morning. Finally saw a doe whitetail with two fawns-the doe reared up, bumped the feeder with her head until all the birdseed fell out and the whole family had a feast!
Couldn't figure out why the cat's food and bird seed was disappearing so fast at the new residence. Now I know why.
Raccoons are very intelligent and incredibly destructive. Do not try to raise a bunch of young ones -- problematic to try to figure out what to do with them when they are older and no longer "cute."
Critters of all kind love bird feeders. We have a huge problem with deer. They tend to eat any flowers Greta plants. We have had Blackeyed Susan's here for many many years. Couple of years ago they decided "hey theses are pretty good" and wiped out almost everyone in just a week or so. Just wish they would tear the feeders up.
