The first image was a test to see if my data was any good. I wasn't finished shooting yet. The second is the finished. I like the unfished better, go figure.

I shot Ha, O-III, and S-II. But I didn't like the looks of the SHO, so I did a bicolor with the Ha and O-III. Shot 400 lights of 20 seconds on each filter. ZWO1600 gain = 300, Offset = 50. RASA.

I've tried to get back to that, but no luck. I guess the lesson is to not try very hard and you can process better???

Shut the door ! Crazy nebulosity and dust in the Eagle , VERY COOL ! image Brian. Heat is climbing back mid 90's today , I ran the Eagle after 3 other target attempts . I tried the Lagoon , Trifid and Omega and the Eagle was the last one @130am Late Friday or say early Saturday morning. After waiting for clouds to clear so I could start guiding,. I take chances every night I'M OUT , you've gotta take chances sitting with everything setup and ready to go waiting on clouds is what I do 50/50 or I wouldn't capture a darn thing.

I've had clear skies. NB is amazing for light polluted skies! I just have to wait til 1am for things to make it over my roof.

Yes it is, I'm glad you got some imaging time , I just wish I could get everything to come together when there's no moon. Almost every time it's something , I can't win. It's clouds , trees , equipment or computer updates . Updates that are set not to mess with me when imaging 6am they can have at it but , not before and what a darn update. I've made a run attempt on the Eagle 3 different nights Fri. Sat. and Sunday and Friday was the only good night of data I got out of 300 60s subs of Lrgb and Ha. I've gotta take those chances my friend lower dewpoint on all 3 nights 35% beats the tar out of 80-95% during the Boil that's coming back this week. I'll get back to it when it in a month maybe when I can start shooing earlier. Those late nights kill me Brian.

I prefer the unfinished composition best myself.
But hey, that's me, right?

Brightening it distracts me, unfinished I can see more of what I look for.

Excellent, Brian!

Hey Sonny, good to hear from you. I really like the unfinished too. I wish I could get back to that version. I kinda delete stuff after I post.

Have you gotten out at all?

No. Well, I do look up when the dog and I are out for our last pee in the yard, but that doesn't count.
I've gotten lazy and tired. Plus sometimes my day job interferes, or I find a cloud to blame, or old man moon is lit up.
But I think mostly I'm being lazy.

Sonny , that's the best reason I've heard. I just can't catch too many breaks in this "BOIL" but, when I do get out it's well worth it. Even if I don't collect that much . I miss seeing your pics with the Infinity. Alanna told me she would get me a better mount , I'm not going to hold my breath though . It would be nice to have something more up to date ,instead of the lxd55 that isn't even made for AP. although It has served me for a couple years for considerably less than a newer up to date mount.

I was thinking I'd set mine up in the daylight just to see it the AVX wants to be funny and act dumb on me again. Then set a patio umbrella over it until I see what tomorrows schedule throws at me.
Today I had a 5:15 AM gitty up for an early run. So staying up late, and gitting up early, doesn't mix well for old poopy pants me.
I should do a set up though just to excersize the mount, and see if it will work OK. Then if I can, go shoot something.....
Git off my lazy butt. Which isn't really lazy, actually. Been working and also working on fixing up our Pontoon boat. Generally, work outside until it gets hot, then hide in the house and take a nap during the heat of the afternoon.

I think you would be leaps and bounds ahead with a decent mount. You've probably gotten every last ounce out of your LDX 55. You've done admirably with it, learned a ton, and are ready to advance.
Trouble is the same thing though, takes a big chunk of change for a mount.
God Bless Alanna for her willingness to help. She's a great one!

Yes , she's a "KEEPER" for sure ! what about Brian's images , fantastic detail ! He's done some pretty darn good processing . As for your AVX , that's what she has in mind , until the money tree is in full bloom. She tells me when something isn't right and 9 out of 10 times " user error" she'll yell "You forgot a step". Start from the beginning of your checklist and do it again , after I've stomped and kicked dirt for a while. She keeps me honest Sonny.

Congrats you captured the eagle beautifully!!!
