What color is it? Back in the 70’s there were some “UFO’s” sighted in WI. On a rainy night, I saw a similar object, it was orange.

The attached picture is from a screen capture of a video taken by my trail camera. Of the almost 700 videos recorded by the camera, this is the only one that has the unexpected orb in it. The image has not been edited in any way - it is just the way it came out of the camera.

Does anyone have a clue as to what the orb may be? I have ruled out anything on the lens because the orb drifts around in random directions throughout the 10 second duration of the video and is not present in previous or subsequent recordings. Whatever it is, it did not spook the deer on the right hand side of the picture.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Years ago I took photos for a girls wedding and some of the photos had an orb. She thought it was her dead fathers spirit, I didn't want to spoil it for her and say it was from the flash.

That is just a dust or pollen close to the lens floating about and being lighted by IR.

Yep, or perhaps a spider hanging on a filament.

I have extensive experience with trail cams. The object is illuminated by your trail cam’s flash. It is either a BUG or a drop of Moisture (rain or some other form of moisture). Period. It’s one of those two.

Try to replicate the orb by creating the situations suggested. If none work out, you have a UFO. (Which does not mean an alien craft, just that it is an unidentified flying object,

The images of "swamp gas" in a Google search show a not as clear shape or uniformity. Some sort of reflection.

In the evening, when my sister's dogs show agitation and start barking at nothing, she pulls out her I-phone, sets it to record, then pans the room. She will record one to several, moving slowly to very fast, in all directions, and from very dim to pure white. The dogs sense then, cameras record them, you will see them on the recordings or in photos, but not with the naked eye. She is not the only person I know who has experienced orbs. One person thinks they are angels. Others think differently. What are they? I don't know. I just know they exist.

Thanks to all for your responses. I had my own theory before posting but didn't include it to avoid influencing your thoughts. I think it is either a small piece of dust, pollen or perhaps condensed water vapor drifting around close to the lens and illuminated by the IR LEDs on the camera. It was a very still night with the dew point very close to the actual temperature so formation of small water drops was possible. The amount of motion was much less that what I have seen previously from bugs close to the lens, and the near perfect circular shape strongly suggests a tiny water drop.

Having said that, I can't rule out a spirit orb.
