Range?

He said it will probably go for 10 million.
120 knots. It has a lot of drag.
Not sure about range.

Thanks all for looking! This was my first time shooting an aircraft for purposes of being used for a for sale ad. Shooting the interior was a little bit of a challenge and I learned some things.

A beautiful series of photos of this unique airplane! Last Saturday I was at the facility where those floats are manufactured.

I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot of a Pilatus Porter seaplane the other day. It is going up for sale, so that was the intention of these photos. The shots from the lake, I took back in July during a fly in. This aircraft is pretty rare. It is only one of three Porters in the world that is on floats. It is also the last Porter to ever be manufactured. It was on the cover of AOPA magazine a couple of months ago. This aircraft originally was supposed to go to Brazil to be an air rescue in the remote regions of the Amazon. That is not happening now as Brazil decided to go a different route on which aircraft they wanted.

After the photo shoot the pilot asked if I wanted to go for a quick flight. Uhhh... yeah. So we did a quick flight with a few touch and goes on Lake Apopka. Here is the link to that video if you are interested.

For doing that the first time, you did an amazing job. It showed all the aspects of that plane in a manner that any prospective buyer would be able to get a very good impression of that plane before actually seeing it in person. It made the plane look very interesting. So—good job, and thanks for sharing that plane and your experience with us. I like the video, too. Boy, Florida sure is flat!!

Great set showing off a beautiful aircraft! Wonderful that you were able to get up close and personal before it disappears!

What a great job you did with that shoot!! 👍👍
SUSI Air flies Porters in very remote parts of Indonesia. There is show on the Outdoor channel about it: Air Pressure - Indonesia. I don't think they have any float planes, however.
Again a job well done. Cheers, Don

The price of the last Porters new was $1.9 M.
I can't imagine anyone paying $10 M for it. I'd guess about $1 M plus of minus. Cheers

We had one of the early, portable FLIR units for the helicopter when I was flying for the Alaska State Troopers, back in the 80’s. Now it’s built into the aircraft. It’s amazing what those things can “see.”

I worked on the development of the FLIR units (way back when) which we originally installed on helicopters for use in desert ops. They were a large pod just below the rotor blades in conjunction with LIDAR (Light Imaging Detection and Radar) and FOS (Faint Object Spectrograph). The original name of FLIR during development was "Faint Light Infrared" and was changed during final buy-off with the gov't.
