This is one of the many Brown Recluse Spiders that I have caught in our home. I found this one in the wash basin in the basement. It's entire size was about that of a dime.
They are identified by their 'six eyes' as well as the fiddle shaped marking on their back which is why many folks refer to them as 'Fiddleback Spiders'. I dispatch them when I come across them and not to let them go to waste I pose them for a focus stack photo session before I give them the burial at sea.
Thanks in advance to all who view and for your comments, questions, suggestions and critique.
Great shot as usual. Sure hope she's dead.
Oh yeah, most of them get the old, "bottom of the shoe" treatment when I find them. This one was in the basin of the sink so I picked it up with tweezers and put it in my kill jar (Ethyl Acetate) and then I put a pin through it and mounted it inside of the ping-pong ball.
I used the 10X microscope objective as the camera's lens for this focus stacking image.
Nice. I wouldn't pick one up even dead.
Excellent capture. Nice to see what they look like in a photo. Thanks for sharing.
