Dear Sumray: WELCOME TO YOUR FORUM!

Your question is extremely dangerous. There are WAY TOO many variables to this question. Youre not asking a question with a simple permutation.
Let's start with something simple. Do you want to shoot Canon, Nikon or Sony or Hasselblad or Leica? Do you want Mirrorless or SLR? I could go on and on....... And in the end, my recommendation will be challenged by another Hogger. What will happen will become a Word War!!

Let's not go there, please!!! So let's go with something you currently know. You say you have a 9 year old joint. So, beside being old, what is wrong with it?
I have a Canon EOS Rebel 2000. Damn, it's only 20 years old and uses film. It's light, easy, reliable, durable and hardworking. Yes, I use it on occasion when I want special effects.

You also put yourself under the gun. Two weeks to buy a camera AND learn how to use it. You would have better success going to the Star Trek Universe & operating the USS ENTERPRISE NCC1701

You must realize that you are going to take it on the chin. Save your money now. Your best bet may be to use your Cellular Phone. Upgrade your phone's storage. I anticipate about 2000 photos for a one week trip. Spend money on some souvenirs. Plan to go back in two or three years from now. You will have a camera you feel comfortable with, appropriate gear and best of all, experience with your new rig.

I'm sorry I didn't answer your question and provide you with a 12 page list of cameras. I don't want to overwhelm you before your flight. Pick up a Selfie Stick and video light for your phone. Have a great flight!!

Motorola smartphone motoZ 3 with Hasselblad clip on camera.

I´ve got one, next to a Nikon D3s and D3X with assortment of Vintage and latest autofocus lenses, and yet.. that`s the Rig I use most often, since I always have it with me.

The Hasselblad clip-on turns it into a Real camera, it has a true optical zoom lens and is quickly ready.
1) " press " the tap-touch button on the side...phone switches on...2) Press small black button next to the Orange shutter button..Lens zooms into Wide-angle position...Ready to take a photo ( eventually zoom with the zoom-ring located around the shutter-button.

I was out at night with the D3s and the Z3 ,wanting to take a pic. of a flood-lit statue in the middle of town, surrounded by all sorts of light, the D3s could n`t get the colors right...no matter how I tried , the Z3 caught it right away.

Without the Hasselblad clip-on , it is just a phone ( with built-in camera`s )..but with the clip-on, it is the most Sophisticated Camera-Phone ever , among other things , due to its True optical Zoom lens...Yet , is Very Easy to Use...there are a Host of Options Available , incl. a powerbank that clips on instead of the Hasselblad clip.

I have Noticed that many smart-phones have difficulty with focusing nightscapes, ....No probs. with this one.

It has a " Fast " zoom lens, which Permits the Photographer to choose Full Open Aperture so as to Minimise Depth of field so as to render a Sharp Object against an out of Focus background.

Unlike many other phones , the Z3 /Hasselblad was made with photography in mind.

Have a look-see...
