Local Lotus

With an abundance of water and swamps, Florida is blessed with many tropical plants including Lotus Plants and Water Lillie's. Both have two separate distinctions, two separate families; Water lilies float on/in the water while lotus plants are emergent and rise above the water. Either way they both produce absolutely beautiful flowers and add a lot of color to the areas where they bloom. Attached are photos of lotus plants in the local area....I did throw in one flower that was not a lotus but strictly for its stunning colors. Hope you enjoy the colors

Beautiful images of flowers that bees are enjoying. Never have seen green bees though - guessing they are bees since their body shape seems to be the same as the typical domestic honey bee in the same photograph.

Thanks Tommy, that bright green one I think is a fly of some sort, definitely not sure....maybe there's an Entomologist on the board who could shed some light...
