Put this and the Argiope together.
Who wins?
Why?
Two answers.

my money would be on the mantis, I've spent a great deal of time testing their abilities, have never seen them have a problem with any thing I presented them, including a full grown katydid, also have hundreds of photos of the process, they make many people cringe...........

My money is also on the mantis. Had several that I had kept as a kid. Fed them all kinds of insects and never saw them loose a contest.

If the mantis gets into the Argiope web, then bet on the Argiope. The mantis will not pose a problem for it. Outside of its web it won't even know what to do.
Nice pictures! This looks to be the European mantis. Another import.

The right track.
The mantis will win then.Spider is 'lost' and clumsy. Mantis hands down. Three out of three.
No way to do this without bias because only by taking one of them out of their element can you see.
See my post of 22June this year to see a jumper and mantis. Which one wins?

All I can say is...I'm glad they aren't 6 feet tall.

I know insects don't have facial expressions. Then there is the first photo in this great series.

Great set Bob. I especially like the close-up of #1.
