In some sense of the issue, this is sometimes NOT FUNNY, but reality!!

So the guy with gigabucks worth of equipment hanging on his person gets to skip to the front of the line?
My photog instructor works at the Smithsonian full time as a Fine Art Photographer. One of only two. He travels the world. His cell shots are outstanding; projected on the school whtebkard you can't differentiate them from FF DSLR or MILC. He makes me feel so inferior..... (sigh).....

Too true! My granddaughter's wedding took place this weekend in her back yard, very low budget, no paid photographer. I was there with my camera, as was my daughter and my grandson's fiancee, plus many cellphones. Between all of us, none professionals, we recorded everything minute by minute and some were posted online before we even left her place. A good time was had by all and the bride is thrilled with all the photos.
It is what it is ........enjoy it. Sometimes the Journey is The Thing .... and not the Destination.
Love it, says it all in today's world,..I guess.🙄🤔
The few cell phone camera users I know make no such claim. Quitely, they take their snapshots to their satisfaction. They also enjoy applying various in-camera filters to their snapshots.
These snapshooters could not give a fig for all the concerned discussion comparing the cell phone camera to the DSLR or to the mirrorless camera.
Early bird gets the worm!
Personally, I feel expensive, high end camera equipment does not entitle a photographer to special privileges. No more than a junk car driver should have to yield their parking spot to someone pulling up in a Rolls-Royce or Ferrari.
