How I feel about my "Fuel Points" at some gas stations... one million points and I'm eligible for an 8 oz. coffee.
LOL, that's about right, Harry.
Yep. It's like the people who say "I earned a thousand dollars just by using my card". They forget to mention the spent 100,000 to do it.
I will have to hand it to Exxon. Back when we drove a lot, if we purchased over 100 gallons/month, we'd get back six cents per gallon purchased when the credit card bill came. Since we don't purchase that much anymore, we get three cents back. Not a lot, but some of the stocks in my portfolio aren't even making 3% and that's bumming me out.
What I hate is the rewards points that go away after a certain time, and I never buy enough within the time period to get any reward.
Have been using Hilton Honors American Express Card for many years and very pleased with the rewards program (Hilton Honors). Points never expire, accumulate for every Hilton hotel group stay, for every$ charged on the card anyplace and anything, and up to 8 points for every $ spent at certain restaurants. Although points can be converted for other features, I use mine strictly for free stays and vacations at Hilton group hotels and have never had a problem or disappointment. AMEX is accepted at many places today and is my go-to credit card and Hilton hotels very accommodating—great combination.
Since Kroger is now the only near-by grocery, and their gas station is kne of the lowest prices anyway...their card gets me a $.35- .50 a gallon discount every month.
