Some thoughts on "moments" (2).

Family:

This is from mostly photographing our own family.
The main thing is to always have your camera with you, and know how to use it.
For indoor shots I almost always use a fast lens (f2-f2.8) and available light.
For outdoors use almost any lens will be fine, however with active children you will need a lens that will focus quickly and know how to set the camera up for fast, accurate focussing (focus tracking on)

Here are some examples.

#1 - Fatherhood. In hindsight I could have done this better by upping the ISO (to 1600) and shooting at a higher shutter speed (1/30 instead of 1/15). Shot wide open @ f2.
#2 - Was using an ultrawide zoom lens wide open.
#3 - When you live on a farm you always check gloves and boots, for spiders, before putting them on.
#4 - This is why you need a camera that can focus quickly and accurately.
#5 - For myself, the images that count are the family memories. This is probaly shot around 1973/4 , notice the flared slacks my wife is wearintg . Dad hadn't retired yet so before retirement they lived in this caravan (trailer) when visiting the farm. I helped him build the shed. The farmhouse was built in 1976, after dads retirement and the caravan was sold.

Thanks for looking.
