There were 57 entries in the comedy- tragedy photo contest and only 40 people voted.
Could it be subject matter ?
Could it be to specific rather than open ended ?
Any restrictions/requirements that could put folks off ?
Was the vote easy to do ? We have a great amount of seniors here that need simple instructions and ways to do stuff.
Just a thought

Voting was not a problem, just wish there was a "tiled" view with more on one page instead of the one row scrolling across the screen. When there are a lot of entries it makes it more difficult to go back through the entries to find what you want to vote for. But then I am sure that is a function of the web-site and not something that YOU can control.
I looked and thought, where is the comedy, where is the trag, in mho most did not fit the requirement, i did not vote.
For me it was just that the one day for voting I was so busy I didn't even get on my computer and missed it! Perhaps the voting time could be extended into the start of the next theme?
I missed it, have a perfect photo to enter if I knew about it, what section is it in?

This kind of comment reinforces my opinion that the contests are just too low-profile. I always forget that there are contests at all, unless I happen across them in one of the forums. And I also think it would help to stretch out the time periods a bit, like maybe 2 weeks for entry, 1 week for voting, for example. I'm sure a lot of folks (like me) do not get to this site every day.
Also, I agree with mullumby, I thought most of the comedy-tragedy entries did not qualify, therefore didn't vote...
But you could have voted for one that did.
How about a daily contest section on the forum, that way you would never miss it.

Surely would have, if only I'd made a point to go back there on the voting day :)
You're right it is hard to remember that one day for voting.....and I have nothing else to do....lol...I think we should keep the contest weekly....make the voting 2 days and maybe have a reminder on the home page.
This is it! Too low profile. I don't forget, I can't find it again.
It just needs its own space on the forum. Who makes that call?
And it should have its own rules.
It is fun. And I do look and I went to vote but it was closed. 24 hours and closed? I read the topic on poling for dates but my memory.....yep this is it........my memory isn't that good.
LOL. It's past my bedtime. Night all.
