I spend a lot of time watching these graceful Mississippi Kites. We see them here for about five months a year. The cold sends them south. They are rare in that their wings, at rest, extend beyond their tail. To see one catch a thermal and rise as though in an elevator is just beautiful.

Very pretty shots, Ron. My aunt used to have these beautiful birds nest in a tall tree in her yard. They were amazing to watch.
