I’d like to buy an easy point and shoot for my daughter primarily for baby and kid pix so it’s mostly indoor. Would like under 300$
I shoot lumix zs100 which is great but a little expensive and heavy/big for pocket
Any other thoughts? Used is ok too
Thanks
Look at P & S cameras at KEH. Some are under $5. Also consider potential for little ones to get jelly covered fingers all over mommies camera. I'd go for something dead stupid simple. See how that goes and maybe your daughter will pick up things she likes or dislikes and go from there.

Most cellphone cameras excel at this and they feature F2 or faster lenses. I have a costly bridge camera that I love, but often resort to the Google Pixel for shots like the ones you describe.

Does she have a cell phone?? They are a good example of point and shoot.

👍👍👍👍
Most of the new ones are very good quality.
One of the things she’ll quickly find out about is shutter lag. My adorable grand children were way too fast for my little camera. Also, they hated the flash... I’m not saying it’s a bad idea, just something to be aware of.

That’s where a good cellphone camera can be a real benefit. "Live" on my iPhone takes a multi-shot burst and you can scroll through to use the best one.
I am kind of with the people who say "cell phone". Modern cell phones are way better than they were just a few years ago, and the ability to have them with you all the time is a better feature than pure image quality.
Be sure to get an app that allows you to shoot in "sports mode" for when the kids won't be still. It is better to freeze the action sometimes, even if you get a really grainy picture.
If they have the room and the inclination to carry a pocket camera, I still recommend the Canon Elph 180. It has a decent zoom range, a decent level of features, and you can buy it with one of the little tabletop tripods for about $150.
I bought my wife a Sony EX100 but she was disappointed with the zoom range. (it has a 1" sensor so you don't get the crop advantage of some of the other point and shoot cameras.) it fits very nicely in a shirt pocket (4 × 2 3/8 × 1 7/16 in. (101.6 × 58.1 × 35.9 mm) and takes beautiful pictures. You can have it for $225 shipped if interested.
I agree on Sony HX90V
An incredible camera for the price. Lens is sharp.
I believe the current model is HX99V

Although most cellphones are more than the $300 budget but I guess the OP already has one.
Thanks for the suggestions We’re going with cell phones at the moment
