Computer Problem

Today I tried to log into Flickr as I always do. Normally it just comes up and off I go. Today a screen came up and said I had to log in (this has happened before, rarely) so I logged in. Told me my password was wrong so I tried to create a new password several times and they were always wrong. I then went to Chrome and it works fine and I got no message about logging on. I have noticed that I am losing more and more regularly visited sites when I use Firefox/Edge, but when switching to Chrome the usually work. Does anyone know why this would be?

Is Firefox storing your passwords? Are they correct?

You may try clearing your cookies and cache in Firefox. When you do, you'll be signed out of all websites on that browser but it will likely fix the issue. As for Edge you can try the same thing as well.

Perhaps your setting for cookies was changed? Sign in credentials are stored there. Just a place to start looking. It could have been an update issue.

Has there been a recent Firefox update on your machine? Also, any chance you have a backup or previous version of your cookies and are they enabled? Personally, I MUCH prefer Firefox to Chrome, for a variety of reasons, so worth fixing IMO.

Many users, myself included, came from Yahoo or at least used their Yahoo login to sign in. Now that Flickr was bought by Smugmug, they want to break ties with Yahoo. They want users to create a new login. I've already done it. Now it opens just like it did before.

Hope that helps some others too.

I have repeatedly tried to change my password in yahoo using yahoo/edge. No matter what I change it does not work. Chrome it works?? I do I create a SmugMug account and only use it for flickr? I don't want to lose what I have on flickr.

I was forewarned and just followed the instructions when that screen came up. You don't have to create a Smugmug account. It's not the Yahoo password that needs changing. Hope this helps.
