Beautiful work. A compelling argument for shooting architectural photos in black and white.

Thanks to many of you for viewing and commenting on my recent posts of black and white photographs. I recently reviewed old files in my Lightroom library and picked images that I thought had potential for B&W. Here are a few more examples:

1. Naples Church This shot from 2014 was of a church on the main square in Naples, Italy. While I felt the color image was pretty good, I was really surprised by the conversion to B&W. Shot with a Canon 5D II with a 24-105 L lens.

2. Naples Galleria: This photo was shot a few minutes before No. 1. This is in a shopping mall (Not sure what the original use of the building was when built.) The geometry of the building speaks for itself.

3. Valencia, Spain: The City of Arts and Science in Valencia is one of the most unusual places I have ever visited. The scale of the buildings is unbelievable and the architecture is absolute world class. I will post more from here in the coming weeks.

While the color processing of these 3 shots seemed to work well, I thought they also landed themselves to B&W. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

You don't need me to tell you, you made a great choice. The pictures speak for themselves.

None of the architecture in America holds a candle to this. Your captures are marvelous, Kate.

Your photos are lovely. I am very impressed with the wide angle lack of distortion in the first and third pictures. Very nicely done.
