i have not used my Aperture program for a few years ,however i still have a large library of photos on that program.i need help on how to transfer that library to On1 or just to my picture folio
My imac is 27 inch from 2012
I’m not sure about Aperture, but I believe it just knows where your pictures are located. Just point ON1 to the folder containing your photos. The default location is usually called “pictures”.
You can access the contents of your Aperture library by control-clicking (secondary click) on the Aperture application. That will give you the option to "Show Package Contents." The contents should reveal Masters or Originals which is where all your original images are stored. Then, you can drag that folder out to another location on your Mac where On1 can use it. Going after the database which should contain reference to how your images were organized and edits may be a fruitless endeavor, but your mileage may vary.
I guess if you want to save the originals or the edited images. If the first export the originals from aperture to a folder. If you want to save the edits you have to export them into a new format like tiff but those edits will be baked in. Any edits after that in On1 will use that as a starting point. I thought I remembered a program that would do it automatically.
