I just got my Movo Bean; it is like an upside down U; designed to go over a car door.
I'd like to get some suggestions about filling it ... besides the usual rice or beans.
It will be supporting a fairly heavy lens and I'd like the bag to be on the light side
if possible. Does anyone have an idea for filling; something not normally thought of?
I guess what I want is lead shot stability with the weight of rice :-)

I used plastic beads (fill) that I picked up from a Michaels

Thank you for all of the helpful input. I think I will be going with the plastic beads used in rock tumblers; I'll be calling the company today to see what info they can add. Again, thank you all, there were some answers that I never would have thought of and that was exactly what I was hoping for.

Very small foam squares.

It looks like they have adhesive ... on two sides. That won't work for me, I can imagine all sorts of problems.

I think we need a separate Bean Bag section.

Smaller objects in the bag would make it smoother. For example, sand would be better than ping pong balls. Is weight a concern? Then ground-up styrofoam would be good. Sand is heavy, stable, and very fine - form-fitting. If weight isn't a concern, that would be my choice. Just make sure you use tough fabric and double stitching. Whatever you put inside can probably be ground down more to make it smoother, if sand is too heavy. I'd rather something inert, rather than food, though. I'm thinking mold and bugs.

But pick it up or you pay for shipping weight.

I see you are in Florida now, I wouldn't fill it with rice, it will be a moisture magnate, unless it is really well sealed. I like the airsoft plastic BB's (6mm), lightweight and won't suck moisture. If you need the weight of shot or metal BB's, that will dictate something heavier.

You could use this product designed for rock tumbling. Available from Amazon.

This is what I use for my 600mm in bag on the window of my car. I purchased from Amazon as well. Very happy with it. Good luck!

Check Amazon for polystyrene pellets. I bought last year a 5lb bag for about $10. They are light, inert and won't dissolve if they get wet. They were about 1/8" in diameter so they filled my bag and rest smoothly on any surface. Pat

Walmart carries plastic bean fill. I used them for my bean bag. Work great and no problems with moisture, mold or critters.

They are light, but shipping a 5lb bag isn't cheap...exactly why I went to a local crafts store.

I use buckwheat hulls that I ordered from Amazon. Natural product that doesn't negatively impact the environment like plastic or styrofoam. Very light, as well. They offer very good support.

I used plastic pellets from an art supply to fill my shooting bags, the last time I used beans it made a mess of the bags when they got moist, the pellets are the size of white beans
