My town is celebrating its 300th anniversary this year. Fireworks this past weekend were part of the festivities. Thanks to tips on the UHH, was able to capture these. D-7000 with a F-2.8 35-70mm. Looking forward to continued improvement. Suggestions more than welcome.

Very nice. The last but one is my favourite - a great shot. One or two (e.g. the first one) show just a tiny hint of camera movement - wiggly lines - on double download, but most are rock-solid. But you have to look really closely to see it. Was there any wind blowing? Hooking a weighted bag on the tripod can help a lot with this. Have you tried the trick of holding a black card in front of the lens until there is another burst to get multiple bursts in the same shot? This is for when you have the shutter in bulb mode. Is that what you were doing? It can work well, but I think I prefer a nice, frame-filling single burst - just a personal preference. It's fun, isn't it? A shame I have to wait for New Year's Eve for the next ones.

Camera movement in some cases was the result of my own clumsinesss, bumping into tripod in the dark, prematurely pressing shutter release button while shutter still open, etc. Discovered too late that my release cable wasn't working, so just hit the release button as the rockets went up and varied exposures starting at 2.5 seconds. Frankly, I think I just got lucky with some shots. It was fun though. Looking forward to doing it again.
Thanks to all for the compliments.

Spectacular group. I was shooting from St. Anthony's Cemetery. Where were you?
