Looking for small group trips with emphasis on photo opportunities in Northern Ireland.
Any guidance would be appreciated
Just returned. Plenty of day trips from Belfast. Even “Game of Throne” dedicated ones. These tours cover all the pertinent locations.
hi. two options in my experience .in Belfast there is a company named black cab tours..interesting informed drivers take you all over Belfast.they will delve into history past and present..will stop for photos any where you like and will show you well off the beaten path places.. second option is a company named tours by locals..I have used them several times in many countries..very helpful and if you read guides bio many have photography backgrounds and lots of help..have been to Ireland several times but Northern Ireland only once..there is a different feel to the place..almost a tension but with the history one can understand why. the europa hotel was once the most bombed hotel in the world. journalists would stay there and I was told majority of bombings were for attention to the cause rather than to kill "foreigners"..anyway its a safe place now. if possible stop in the crown saloon..one of if not the oldest in Belfast..amazing wood work and ceiling great photo op but very dark..walk the old walls in derry..ther are guide all over offering tours. also headed back in October for two weeks.enjoy your trip, jim
Last year my wife and I joined a small (8) group for a fantastic photo tour of NW Ireland and N Ireland following much of the Wild Atlantic Way. It was organized and led by Trevor Cole. Check out his website

I may be wrong but I believe the OP wanted more information than that such as what tour group you may have been with and so on. Letting him know you just returned from a tour doesn't help him much.

I second the Black Cab experience if in Belfast... they will take you to a number of photo ops locations plus some of the most interesting murals on buildings to shoot. Your hotel should have brochures for small or private trips or can make recommendations.
Plus remember the Titanic was built there - the pumping station to float it out of the dry dock and some old rusting steam cranes are still there. Also a tour up the coastline, or better yet car rental if brave enough for opposite-side driving, will present lots of opportunities from sheep in the hills of heather to boats in harbors, etc.
Do not, I repeat DO NOT miss the Giant’s Causeway.
It’s interesting for the historical as well as the lore and there are more than a few photo ops.

I can't really help with steering you towards a group, but if you could manage a self-drive trip you will find most of the best NI photo opps along the 'Causeway Route'. The route is well signposted and starts near Larne and runs all the way around the coast to at least Portrush. There are a couple of outer loops off the main route which I am sure are worth exploring if you have time. The Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle and the Carrick-a-Reed rope bridge are the main attractions, but don't miss some lesser known gems like Ballintoy Harbor. Take the easy footpath west of the harbor for some 'otherworldly' coast shots. Portrush is a good center for exploring this area. Portrush has some great restaurants around the cute harbor. Bushmills Distillery is nearby and is a 'must'. Good photo opps there too.
If the weather is good when you get there, go straight to Portrush and work your way back. The weather can change from one extreme to another in five minutes. The wind can literally blow you off your feet.
If you can get a group of your own together, Dan Dooley Car Hire rents mini vans. Find suggested itineraries here.

Some pics of my trip along the Causeway Route here.

I second the Bushmills visit. Their 10 year old whiskey is quite tasty. Better imho than the 12 year distillery reserve. 😏
