I have to old cameras, a Canon Rebel T2i and a Canon Rebel XSi. I only use them if I'm shooting in high risk situations. They've both been working fine until recently. But lately everything I shoot has an excessive amount of blue. I can easily correct that in Photoshop and Lightroom. But I had planned on giving them, one to a friend and another to a relative, both who are just starting out with photography. Is there any quick way to fix this without having to take them in for repairs?
Isn't possible you've messed up the White Balance setting? Your best, next course of action is to post an example JPEG directly from each camera and store the attachments. Another set of eyes will likely identify something you've missed. Two different cameras wouldn't both have the same problem except when the same operator is involved ....
Is the white balance set for tungsten lighting, perhaps?
What about WB? It seems as if both cameras are set too high in Kelvin degrees. Set to fluorescent light can turn out images with a green or blue cast.
White balance is my first guess, also.
I have an Canon XSi, too. A very knowledgeable fellow who runs a photo group where I live has said that many of my landscapes are over-blue, and that it is a built-in problem, especially with older Canons. I had not noticed this tint to my photos before he pointer it out. But I have to admit that when I make adjustments in Photoshop, desaturating the blues, the photos look better, more natural.
I don't believe it is something you can fix "in the camera".
Do the cameras have a reset option? If so, I would reset them and check. Good luck.
