This is not a common sighting in my area. It must be due to all of the rain we had this year. It is very difficult to get a good capture of this little bird because it never sits still and moves in a very unpredictable manner. It will almost always make a drastic change in direct right after it takes off and if it does stay in one spot it almost never stops turning from left to right and sometimes completely around. It's also very aggressive and territorial. Fun to watch.

They are common in SW Ohio, but you are correct in that they are tiny and move constantly and difficult to get clear shots of. One of my favorites. Lovely photos!
