Pandanus palms are common right around Australia's shore line. The fruit is large--6-8" across & progressively changes from green to yellow to dark orange as it ripens. It is edible but not worth the effort, because the flesh is astringent & the pods are almost impossible to crack open--one has to use a saw or a machete. Even cockatoos leave them alone & they can normally crack anything open. Downloading is recommended.
Earl, an interesting palm and thank you for the knowledge you passed on. DDLs are awesome.
