After the fall...
As I mentioned before I took a fall (chair collapsed on me) and I hit my head on chair behind me. My camera fell on top of me as I took most of the brunt of the fall. I am concerned about any internal damage. I am thinking of taking it in to Mike's Camera (Sacramento) to have them take a look. Do you think this is my best bet? Any other suggestions are welcomed.
I want my camera in good shape for upcoming trip.
Thanks,
Jim

I would be more concerned about internal damage to your head. Is your camera operating correctly? Are you having any issues with the images you are getting after the accident? if you are not having any problems, why are you going to bother taking it in to be checked? They will only be able to fix something that's actually broken. They will not be able to anticipate which part might fail because it may have been stressed out in the accident.

YOU may have needed a second opinion as to 'how' well you were after your accident. The camera just needs to be used in order to check it works.
If you want a new camera...just drop it from a greater height BUT don't accompany it on the way down!!!!
have fun
I hope you're OK. If your camera fell on top of you, there probably isn't any damage. If the lens hit something hard, I suppose there's a possibility of de-centering. I got this chart to check my lenses. You can also download it online.

If it were me (and it's not) I would go out and take some shots with it. YOU are the best person to make that judgement cause your the one that owns the camera. Look over the shots, are they the same as you have been getting? are they in focus? Is the color true?
Try all settings of the same subject, then compare them, are they the same? how are they different?
Come on man, you can do this. Your an independent self confident guy aren't you? Now get on your big boy pants and get out there and test the living daylights out of it.
Then come back and give us an update on the patient.
PS, test the flash also
There are videos online that show how to test a lens for de-centering using the star chart I listed above. If you notice that one side of the image is sharper, de-centering could be the culprit.

Is the camera doing anything different?? This is your call. You don't need someone to tell you what to do.
Ouch! I'm sure you can tell if the camera is operating OK by using the charts, etc., but it depends on how sure you want to be. Me, I'm not that confident, and since you'll be taking a trip, if it doesn't cost too much, take it in and have it checked out. One less thing to worry about on the trip.

If the camera fell onto your body most likely there is no damage to it and if it is working it is just fine.

I would see your personal doctor for the fall. I don't think Mike's can diagnose your injuries. 😳. Seriously... sorry to hear. Glad you are OK and hope your camera is unscathed.
I took a fall and landed on my back onto pavers with my D7200 under me. My camera is fine. My back still has twinges and it’s been several weeks.

Hope you are OK, Jim. The camera, if necessary, is repairable or replaceable. You are not!! My cameras have taken a few falls - nothing very serious. I just shoot and do the testing myself. Have yet to find any real damage.
Good luck,
Mark
