Factors associated with life in my eighth decade have begun to restrict my field photography and urge me to part with some customary equipment. This includes a AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f5.6 ED, tripod collar, caps and hood included. It's a good --sometimes marvelous, lens. It is used but I have not used it extensively and it has been very well cared for. I think the merchants would call it excellent to very good. I have none of the original paperwork but I will pack it it with its box and ship it within in the lower 48 at my expense. My needs and the competition makes a price of $875 appropriate. Obligatory photos are attached along with examples suggesting what this lens is capable of.

Thanks Duke. I appreciate that.
Nice photos,
How would payment need to be made?
Ps
How well does the VR work? Average shutter speed used with it?
Handhold it ok?

I have a Paypal account and have happily used it in the past --but I still remember how to deal with a check and how to wait 'til it clears.

Reply to your PS:
The VR won't do miracles but I've found that it helps a lot. I use it all the time. If you're attached to a rigid support, you'll need to turn the VR off or it will fight with the tripod.
For birds and other subjects that have or are about to fly off, I use aperture preferred at a high ISO, like 3200 (auto) and make from the hip changes using the exposure compensation button. This is not a rule but I find myself there often.
All three photos I included were shot hand-held. As the butterfly shot shows, this lens will focus surprisingly close even at 500mm.

I have a Paypal account and I like it. I can still remember how to deal with checks.
I have a trip to Yellowstone coming up and figured a longer lens would be nice for the animals there. Last time, my 300 was a little short. I could enlarge on computer but prefer not to if possible. Nikon claims 4 stops for the VR, so I should be able to handhold it fairly well. Plan to use with a z7.
Based on appearance of lens and you posted photos, looks like lens works well. If you say everything works properly, and glass is clean, I’ll take it.
Where do I need to send money? How did you carry the lens? In Bag or case? Did you use with any Filters? I am not sure how PayPal works. Probably use a check.

Sincere regrets Rg!
I sold the lens to the first comer late last night and shipped it about an hour ago. In fact, I signed on just now to list it as sold.
Sorry bout that too. Any other Nikon lens for sale?
