I am always amazed how mean-spirited, rude, crude, insulting and just plain hostile some people are on UHH.

This was NOT a political conversation. But those who feel that have to express themselves just get lost in an angry exchange.

So sorry that your thread about a photo trip was sent to the rancorous caverns of the Attic due to the misanthropic early responses of one of the Attic's alt-right caricature posters.

Have an awesome trip!

You are engaging in politics the moment you decided it was okay to go to Cuba for leisure activities amongst a oppressed people.

WOW! Let it go guys!
Do you really believe the stuff you hear on Fox! All opinion. Listen to the other Channels you hate for a week. You might see the stuff they say is actually backed-up and really is fact.
Let us all stop political s*** here on this forum. This is not what this forum is supposed to be about. Stop alienating so many of our fellow contributors. Be NICE!

And do you really expect any sane person to believe what you hear on CBS, MSNBC or CNN. All have proven in the past to lie or alter their stories. Yet Liberal idiots believe whatever they broadcast. That couldn’t be you could it?

It isn't bashing Cubans, it is bashing the communist government. The Cuban people DO NOT KNOW WHAT FREEDOM IS. Imagine how happy they would be if they were able to have freedom.

When you go there, you are supporting the communist regime that does not treat it's people well.

Some hard facts for you:
Cuba has the third highest life expectancy rate (after Cayman Islands and Puerto Rico) in all of Latin America. Also, Cuba is ranked 6th in the Human Development Index for all of Latin America. Feel free to look it up if you don't believe me.

The citizens of Cuba may not have the freedom to start a corporation, become wealthy or vote for whatever clown they want for political office, but they do have a relatively good quality of life. And to most people, quality of life is more important than anything political or economic freedom can give them.

Thanks so much for the positive responses. I love Cuba and the Cuban people. They are a happy, friendly people.

For those who think this was about politics, it was about a great location for travel, photography and to help the people that live there.

Only a liberal would say that people living under communism have a good quality of life. Do you have any idea how ignorant that statement is?

The average Cuban makes $20.00 a month, there is NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH, prostitution is rampant, a Dr makes $67.00 a month, a nurse $40.00 a month. The government keeps them living in poverty. Perhaps you should go live there.

YOU are not helping the people that live there and throwing a few trinkets at them is not a solution. When you leave, they still live in a communist country and they have no freedom of speech and no say in how they live.

YOU don't know what you are talking about. They have more freedom than they have had in years, they have internet, and the private homes I have stayed in are not poor homes.
If you have never been there, never experienced the people, you need to not make nasty judgements.

I notice you did not mention Freedom, an indicator of the highest quality of life. Mice, hamsters, animals in zoos are relatively happy too.

I, for one, am grateful that this photography trip to Cuba was listed here or I would never have known about it. Having visited Havana for a day in 1950 and again in 1959 when Castro was still being hailed by the U.S., I had no plans to ever visit Cuba again, but this tour sounds very interesting. Two of my friends have recently visited Cuba and they had a great time. It's just too bad that the right wing proto fascists on this forum had to weigh in with their ignorant hatreds.
