Nikon 5600 startup

I just bought a Nikon 5600 but was not aware that Nikon is too cheap to include a printed startup/user manual. I have tried several of the so-called download 5600 sites and they are trash. Can anyone advise me as to the most simple of download manual sites that, hopefully, spells out the initial setup and use of this camera, especially the startup steps, beginning with "Open the box...." level information. Lacking any instruction manual, I will have no choice but to return the camera as it is far too complex to try to bumble or fumble through how to use it.

I have a 5600. Buy David busch’s Book on kindle. Well worth it. Explains everything you need to know and how to setup back button focus.

Edit: I tried to post the pdf of the manual but it didn't take. Not allowed I guess.

every Nikon I have bought has come with a manual unless its a refurb or from a dealer that strips everything from new boxed cameras and pieces out the contents in fraudulent adds . Thom Hogan is known for his knowledge and set up of nikon cameras usually around 900 pages . They are E books online for around $29.95 on some models he has offered his setup in a bin file to install on your camera.. The book on the D810 was my first accessory I bought on my last camera......

The link above provides access to Nikon's English-based documentation for the D5600. Being free, the OP should start there for detailed information and user's manual(s) for this model.

My granddaughter just bout a Canon EOS DSLR and it did not have a manual either. Appears that the camera manufacturers are doing anything to fatten their bottom line financially and could not care less about their customers. Re David Busch's book on the 5600, I have seen a number of posts saying it is aimed well above the newbie level and ignores the basic fundamentals. Not having actually seen the book, this has to be hearsay but almost all of the negative comments indicated it was not aimed even in part at entry level 5600 owners.

I dislike the fact that some cameras don't come with manual although you can down load the manuals. I just downloaded the user's manual from B&H website. I think they have a bigger manual at Nikon website but the manual I downloaded is only 36 pages. Not a helpful manual.

I sincerely doubt the giant camera companies are being cheap or trying to fleece us out of a dollar when the camera is $700. Their business depends on keeping us satisfied enough to recommend their products to other higher end users. I got a complete manual with a recent Canon purchase but put it on a shelf because I can search the pdf quicker on my tablet or phone.

Don't buy anything, have a deal (steal) for you and will PM you tomorrow when home. Busch's book, extra like-new batteries, lens hoods, etc. I need to check what else I have. Just traded in my D5600 & lens.

As someone who actually has the book I would have to disagree. He covers all the basics and simple shooting information but like any good instruction book there is more advanced information when you are ready to use or if in need of it.

D5600 for Dummies is better/easier than the Nikon manual
