This will probably get moved....but. anyone ever been to the hummingbird migration festival in Arkansas? Not sure what it's actually called but my wife would really like to go. Is it worth the trip?

Having not seen any responses yet, I'm guessing that you might have to take your wife and report back😁.

However, looking at the northbound traffic in Michigan this afternoon I am willing to bet that not many of us are home this weekend.

It's the twelfth one down. I don't see a date listed for it yet, though. As a hummingbird guru, yes, I believe it is worth the trip.

Rockport, Texas has a Hummerbird Celebration in September that is famous for the flocks of hundreds of hummingbirds on migration.

I never heard of that, but the "humming" of thousands of birds might be hazardous to your health.

If we are lucky maybe they’ll all learn the “words” instead of humming!!

If you really want to see hummers, take her to Costa Rica. They have more varieties and are so plentiful you cant count them all.

Too hot down there for me. Thanks for responding, though.

No. I have only had one female show up this season and she is long gone.

We lived in HSV for 5 years and I have not heard of such a festival in Arkansas, however, after May, the feeders are hung out and the hummingbirds appear hungry and seeking food.

Lol. It is not as hot in Panama and Costa Rica as it is in Texas or Louisiana in the summer. In fact, if you go to the highlands it is a lot cooler and they have wonderful birds of all sorts besides hummingbirds.
