Another great series, Rena.

These are great . More please. Buffalo need more exposure as they are taken for granted nowadays and they're just like cattle in many ways.
A lot of people don't realize it but bison have been inter bred with cattle for a long time. So much so that it's difficult to find pure blood bison any more.

Wow...I did not know this and that may be why they are seemingly friendly to you & your camera as you were clearly close to them and they can outrun you easily if they wanted to do so.
Thanks for the info.
Very nice images. Custer State Park is must see as you know. I really like the image with the calf.
Image #3 is the most visually interesting to me. We live near the National Bison Range near Charlo, Montana and going out to photograph these amazing creatures is always a pleasure. HOWEVER, interbred with cattle or not, these are WILD animals and you may have seen the video of the drunken idiot harassing a bison, putting his life at risk for a little "fun." I always respect their power and keep a safe distance, and use a longer lens if I need to!
A great set. Love the shots of the herd. But feel the best one is #1. Looking at the young one he has a smile on his face. Great shot. Mahalo for sharing.
It looks like there are more there than we have in Arizona.
