This is my b&w version of Mt. Si, located in North Bend, Wa. at the base of the Cascade foothills, some 20 miles east of Seattle. Just two blocks away was a heard of at least 30 elk quietly grazing with no concerns of local traffic. Anyway, the clouds were breaking from the summit just moments before I took the photo. Post work was done with Affinity Photo and Nik Silver Efex, plus some dodging & burning to gain some separation of tones. The dark grey stripes in the lower right corner were from lawn mowing. Comments are always welcome. Ken

A little too much contrast but still a fine image.

Thank you all for the nice comments and for suggestions as well. I would agree that it is a contrasty photo.
But when I reduce the contrast, the whole dynamic of boldness and even some tone separation get reduced. From my point of view, the impact of the threatening clouds is diminished. When downloaded, or viewing on the photo editor, I think I'll leave it as is. Who knows, tomorrow I may see it with different eyes.

Thanks again to all. Ken

Great image, not too contrasty for me, just Dramatic (with a capital D). Strange how in the thumbnail for the dark lawn-mowed strip aligns with the dark line in the foliage going up the mountain, looks almost as there was a mountain-climbing mower! Thanks for sharing a great image.

Thanks for the compliment, but no, I've never been to the top. I'd probably need a whole new body for that.🙂
