Amazon NiMh AA Batteries vs Eneloop?

Nothing better to do this afternoon and found myself watching a number of Youtube videos on Nimh batteries. I have been using Eneloops for years and have some that are still going strong 8 or 9 years later. On the other hand, there were some really good reviews of Amazon's own brand (one reviewer even suggested that they may be made by Panasonic, same folds who make Eneloops.)
Amazon brand is also subsantially cheaper.
So I am curious: anybody using the Amazon Nimh AA batteries?
Any opinions o how they compare to Eneloops?

If it ain't broke why fix it. I too have eneloop batteries that just don't want to die. That said I recently went on vacation and needed more batteries for backup. My first and only choice are the new version of the eneloop. Rated better, longer lasting and stronger. It was a no brainier for me, how often do we find a product that actually works. I saved tons of money using the original eneloop batteries. I'll save a ton more again for years to come. Are they more expensive, sure. Will they last for years and years and never let me down, Sure..

I have both and use them in grips and flashes. I don't notice any difference. I am not one who counts the number of shots per charge. After a day of shooting I recharge whatever batteries I use.

I have been using Eneloop batteries in a variety of gear with great success. Like others have said, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I have read somewhere that IKEA batteries are also made in the same factory as eneloops, so maybe the same and cheaper. Sorry can't reference the source.

I use Ikea Ladda. They tested better than Eneloops for mha capacity. Reports claim they are rebranded Eneloop Pro batteries at 2450 mha.They currently cost $8 for 4 batteries. Close to 1/3 the price of Eneloops. Amazon's came in very close to Ladda's.

That's true because both batteries say made in Japan. There is only one battery factory in Japan.

I have both, I do not notice a difference at all. I use them in my flashes. They seem to recycle at the same rate but I have never put a stop watch to them to find out for sure. They also seem to go as far on a charge but have never actually measured the number of flashes. As others have said there is a thought that they are enloops rebranded from the same factory. Bottom line in everyday use I do not notice a difference except in the price.

I don't consider Eneloop batteries expensive. Last time I bought a couple sets the sets cost about $2 more than the old NiMH batteries I had been using before Eneloops. Since I have more then 1000 times that invested in camera stuff, the price of Eneloops is negligible.

I use both Eneloop and Amazon and do not notice a difference other than the latter may last longer between charges. Please note this is anecdotal and not based upon a controlled comparison. I started with Eneloops but now buy Amazon exclusively. The batteries power a high-drain flash plus many low-drain devices.

Buy Amazon and you have no idea who made them. Buy Eneloop and you have someone to contact.

Really? It doesn't mean, though, that there couldn't be different "grades " of product made in the same plant. Possible?

I just did a Google search for "Battery manufacturers in Japan." There certainly appears to be a lot of them....major brand-name electronics makers and numerous others.
Are you suggesting they are ALL housed in the same plant?

Although I don't know about one factory in Japan but I think many of the manufacturers you see listed in your search contract the same factory to make them.
