You seem to be uninformed about history. Cuba was I think, the wealthiest Central American Country at the time of its revolution. Money had as little to do with communism in Cuba as it had to do with communism in the Soviet Union. Money helps, but power is the driving force behind any communist revolution. Why do you think all communist countries end up being so dirt poor, while their leaders live in luxury? The wealth disparity in communist countries far exceeds that of any capitalist countries, including the Batista regime in Cuba in the 1950's.

And as far as corrupt government, the communists win the achievement award over capitalist countries any day.

Not defending what happened after, saying what caused it to start? People don't revolt because of the speeches of one man.

Wow "Barbra Streisand"??? please no, not that. Go back to yelling at the dog, grump.

It appeared that you were defending the Cuban Revolution for some reason. Do you think it was a good thing that happened or a bad thing?

One man can however, influence a lot of ignorant people into doing something they would not normally do, like Hitler did in Germany. All communist takeovers were done by very small groups of people who managed to defeat other numerous small groups vying for power. I don't know of a single communist revolution that had wide popular support. The Cuban Revolution, while it was unfolding, was popularly believed to have nothing to do with communism. Castro and Guevara had other ideas, however.

A better point would be to ask why was there a revolution in Cuba? Should intense poverty and a corrupt government have been left to thrive for the benefit of the mafia and the wealthy? What were people so upset about that a whole army formed to throw out the government? Castro must have touched something in them. A better line of reading might be what happened to make Castro become so pro-Communist and destroy Cuba's middle-upper class so violently? He was in Tampa before the revolution collecting funds from the cigar merchants. Is Castro another Ho Chi Minh story of being rebuffed by our government? Anyone know? Or would you rather just call me a name and be done with it

Our founding fathers were all sons of wealth--the educated class at that time were from the wealthy class. Do you think a farmer after spending all day in the fields would read Hume or "Wealth of Nations" by candlelight? Like you are saying about Che, you could also say that our founding fathers were spoiled rich kids causing problem for everyone. The only difference is that T-shirts did not exist back then.

This country's current government was formed by revolution. Revolution happens because of an in-balance, usually economic--that is held in check by a government. An in-balance is happening now in this country--the top 0.1% own as much as the bottom 90%. Because of deregulation, corporate lobbyists, and bought and paid-for congress. Trump was voted in because the broken lower classes sensed things were wrong and thought that f-ing things up was the only solution. Less government is not a solution--things are too complicated and anyway it's a dog whistle. The wealthy are not going to let go of their acquiring nature, it has to be taken from them with laws and regulation. For the good of us all.

If you can ask those questions about Castro, you need to do some reading. Your comments make you look like a "progressive".

I have read several articles about Senator John McCain. Please read this one (one of several that state the same story): https://prepareforchange.net/2017/09/11/navy-releases-mccains-records-mccain-was-personally-responsible-for-the-deadliest-fire-in-the-history-of-the-us-navy/

The left has no interest in promoting the truth about Ernesto Guevara.

Somebody read a book and was so proud that he was compelled to re-tell the story and post numerable pictures on the internet to let everyone know.

It seems he liked those expensive imported cameras also ... of course, how else could you get photographed with your spiffy new uniform, manicured nails, and ROLEX watches?

Don’t forget his role after the revolution..... Guevara served for several months at La Cabaña prison, where he oversaw the executions of individuals deemed to be enemies of the revolution.

You might want to read some history about the founding fathers, the extreme risks they took (they were all in) and how most of them ended up.

Che was also head of Castro's secret police and liked to amuse himself by torturing prisoners and reportedly raping them.
