I feel for you.
I think I hate Android, I can't find anything without a full on emergency search.

I prefer Mac to Android and I am a died in the wool PC person. At least Mac's are computers with file systems that make sense. Android, you have to have the app to do something without having a PhD in computer science.

That said, my smartphone (smarta$$ phone is more like it), Nook e-reader(s) and tablet are Android. I side load books from other publishers or stores and then need a search warrant and a posse to find them on the e-reader.

With Android downloads usually go into a folder called Downloads (duh). If you do not have that icon on your screen, just go into your Apps, find it, hold finger down on it, and transfer to screen.

Or, stop the next 12-yr old and ask him/her to show you how & where. <grin>

Yes, it can be tricky locating something a "device." See if there is a Download choice in the Menu system. I have the same problem with my phone and Kindle occasionally.

I found it. I tap apps, Samsung, my files, then downloads. And there is the manual, among a few other missing downloads.
Thank you all your help.
