I was eating my omelet this morning at my favorite diner. It was quite early, so no newspaper yet; I had my Kindle.
A woman, my age (or...gasp...older), who always sits in the same booth, always reads the whole NY Times during her breakfast, and who always has sour pickles as part of her breakfast, pointed at my Kindle and asked, "Which of all the authors you have read over the years, living or dead, would you like to have breakfast with?
I replied, "living."
