I took a long series of very similar photos at that same time. I have not taken the time to examine each one yet. I'm feeding the hummers for free so they keep coming to my feeder. I expect the 6th flash that I think I need to show up early next week. I also bought more rechargeable batteries. My flashes run almost all day long after I recharge them.
Weather permitting, I'll be taking more photos Tuesday. I'm trying to get a good photo of the male hummingbird flashing it's red throat. He must face directly at the camera for that flash to be visible.

As a reward to all of you that have expressed you likes and appreciation of my work, I'm going to attach another photo taken at the same time as the OP. I normally try to avoid using PS and strive to get it all right in the camera at the moment of exposure. I did not like how dim the background was in the OP so in this photo I cheated and used PS to select the background and make it a tad brighter. I did not crop this one as tightly as I did the original one. When it come to cropping I tend to ignore the rules. The photo subjects determine where I'm going to crop, not some "rule of thirds" and such. I wanted you to see some of the out of focus blossoms in the background so I extended the photo margins to include them. The bird can still be found and dominates the photo. Next week my 6th flash will arrive in the mail, and I will be able to really brighten the background and not resort to PS.
I do not dislike the use of PS, I'm a big fan and use it when it's needed. It's just more efficient if I can get right at the moment of exposure.

I find that most people would prefer the tighter crop. They want to see the bird not the out of focus flowers. Even when I down download here on UHH I tend to do the magnifier and crop on my screen.
Here is the way I end up looking at it. Ya, tighter is better.

Thanks! I have that feeder just outside my office window so I can watch them eat. I decided to give the hand feeding a try. Feeder in one hand, camera in the other.
