Hi guys, not sure if there is an easy answer to this. I decided to go for a Sony mirrorless a6300 and bought a adapter M11 so I could use my canon lenses with it. I forgot to try out my sigma 10 20 on it until yesterday on holiday in Scandinavia and guess what ? It doesn’t work on this camera, my own fault of course as the adapter is for canon lenses I just wondered if any of the brainy folk on here have a simple fix as I don’t really want to have to buy a new wide angle lens.

You didn't specify what's not working.

Can you use it in manual mode?

Depth of field should be great enough to focus manually, even if your eyesight isn't the greatest.

I assume that the autofocus isn't working. If so, try manual focus until you can afford a Sony or Canon brand lens.

No it doesn’t communicate fully and won’t take a photo wherever I put the dial

On the A-6000, it is on the GEAR menu on page 3.

I said that wrong I think.

It is on page three of the menu section that has a gear as the symbol. It is called "release w/o Lens"

Thanks Laboiserie that works fine .only problem is that it reverts automatically after one photo but that’s not a real problem as I just go back to the menu and reset it.

Glad somebody was here to help.

If you will only be using this on the Sony, once you get home, contact Sigma. For a fee they can change the mount on some of their lenses.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Wait, "Release without lens" resets after each picture? Or do you mean it resets when you turn the camera off and back on?

The feature was (kind of) designed for people who put manual lenses (or telescopes or whatever) on a camera. It is not supposed to reset until you turn the power off.

Not too sure what is happening as today I took several shots with no problems whereas yesterday it needed resetting every time I took one shot? I am certain it is my fault and as we say in NZ operator error so it is working and I will be able to use the wide angle when we go through the Norwegian fjords and I am very pleased and relieved about that.
